Job Goal:
The SPS OST Manager of Programs and Partnerships will coordinate and provide oversight and guidance of programs and partnerships during non-school hours throughout the school year and school vacation periods, to support the academic and social-emotional development of students. The Manager will work in partnership with school leaders, district department directors, the City, and community partners to identify needs and potential programs to meet those needs.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Child Development, Education or related field.
At least 5 years’ experience with evidence-based youth out-of-school-time program coordination including supervisory experience.
Strong communication and organizational skills. Experience developing and managing program budgets preferred Experience working in a diverse, urban K-12 educational setting preferred.
Multilingual proficiency strongly preferred.
Responsibilities:
Works in partnership with school Principals and district Department Directors to identify additional academic and/or enrichment programming beyond the school day to address identified gaps or needs.
Works in partnership with school Principals and district Department Directors to plan for the upcoming school year’s out-of-school-time programming, including before-school, after-school, evening, and vacation programming.
Researches and helps identify potential partner organizations that could help meet identified needs through out-of-school-time programming.
Works with school and district administrators to plan, develop, and schedule the OST programs determined to meet identified needs.
Works in partnership with other city departments to provide operational and outreach support for programming supporting SPS students.
Provides operational oversight, guidance, and/or support for OST programs and partnerships during the school year.
Works in partnership with SPS Summer School Director(s) to coordinate and oversee additional non-SPS summer enrichment programming.
Works with school Principals and the Assistant Superintendent of Operations to identify space needs for OST programming.
Develops and maintains operational systems to facilitate enrollment across all OST programs and ensure that all providers are aware of and adhere to district operational, safety, and other protocols and procedures.
Develops and maintains a comprehensive calendar/database of OST programs, by school, with appropriate contact and other information.
Works with appropriate district department Directors to coordinate professional development/training related to student safety protocols and procedures, to include First Aid, CPR, 51A training, mandated reporting, and CPI certification.
Develops and supports OST program staff in establishing clear student behavioral expectations and implementing a behavioral management system rooted in restorative justice practices.
Works within established district structures to appropriately address OST emergency issues or concerns.
Works with OST programs to ensure that impact data is being collected and analyzed; develops data collection process as needed; uses data to help inform future programming opportunities
Works with Communications and Grants team to identify potential funding sources, help write and manage grants supporting OST programming, and to develop communications strategy for OST programming.
Works with Chief Financial Officer to develop OST budget.
