About the School of Business, Government, and Economics:
The School of Business, Government, and Economics
(SBGE) at SPU has twenty-eight faculty and nine staff serving about 655 undergraduate majors in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Global Development Studies, and Political Science, as well as approximately 100 graduate students in three master's level programs (MBA, MS-IS, and MA in Management). The school is committed to providing a high-quality education through the lens of Christian faith and values and is distinguished by its emphasis on applied learning. It was the first within the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities membership to achieve secondary accreditation with the AACSB (in 2000), and successfully maintained accreditation in 2019. SPU is ranked 6th year in a row as Best National University by US News and World Report. In addition, the School of Business, Government, and Economics was the first adopter within the Northwest Region of the UN's Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) and is one of six PRME champion schools in North America. Beyond such quality indicators, the faculty and staff within the school are a supportive community marked by collaborative teaching, scholarship, and service and commitment to the school's perspective on the purpose and practice of business.
Job Description:
Part-time, one-year, non-tenure track position, starting September 2022. Appointment is in SBGE.
Teach regular nine-month load of about 18 quarter credits, including undergraduate and graduate courses in Business Ethics, Christian Values in the Marketplace, and Special Topics in Management.
Collaborate with SBGE faculty and staff.
Serve within SBGE, SPU, professional organizations, church, and community.
Requirements:
PhD or Masters degree in Business Ethics or closely-related discipline.
Evidence of teaching excellence and scholarly productivity.
Capable of teaching assigned courses at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
Compatibility with the University's ecumenical Christian mission as expressed in the SPU Statement of Faith.
Personal commitment to Christian faith.
Preferred Qualifications:
PhD in Business Ethics or closely related discipline (ABD considered).
Teaching and research interests in business ethics and management.
Versatility in teaching assignments.
Experience with diverse populations and/or issues in equity.
Additional Information:
Salaried and commensurate with qualifications.
