The Department of Sociology houses the following majors: Sociology, Criminal Justice, and Cyber Security (the criminal justice track). The Department of Sociology offers the Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology with an emphasis in social inequality and social policy. The concentration in social inequality focuses on race, class, and gender inequalities and on the processes through which such inequalities become embedded in society’s social structures. The Department seeks to fill an adjunct faculty position with a focus in social inequality beginning Fall 2023.
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be required to teach a variety of courses such as: Introduction to Sociology, Social Problems, Introduction to Social Research, Advanced Research Methods, History of Sociological Theory, Contemporary Sociological Theory, and other courses as directed by the department chair. The adjunct faculty will be required to hold office hours to provide academic assistance to students.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates must have an earned master’s degree or doctorate in Sociology from an accredited university. Experience in and evidence of successful teaching in a university setting is preferred. Compensation will be commensurate with credentials and experience.
