Description
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in equine studies and possibly other related areas. Courses may include: Introduction to Equine Studies, Basic Horse Care and Nutrition, Advanced Nutrition, Equine Reproduction, Equine Science I and II, Herd Behavior, Contemporary Issues and Ethics in the Equine Industry, and Equine Facilities Management. The ideal candidate would have a basic understanding of Natural Horsemanship and Equine Behavior. Faculty workload includes teaching, advising, scholarly activities, committee and/or other professional service and supervision of students in practical settings such as internships. Qualifications
The successful candidate will hold an earned doctoral degree (PHD) in an Equine Studies discipline, Veterinary Medicine or Veterinary Science. They will have demonstrated the ability to work collegially with others and have evidence or potential of scholarly work. Experience teaching at the college level and a background in equine activities is desirable.
