Job Description
Grade 1 Teacher
The Peter Noyes Elementary School is seeking a Grade 1 Teacher who will work collaboratively with the team and be primarily responsible for the development of appropriate curricula, daily high-quality instruction, and the on-going success of each and every student in the classroom. • Plan, develop, and utilize a variety of instructional materials and aids appropriate to the intellectual and instructional level of students from varied socio-economic and cultural backgrounds that possess a range of mental and emotional maturity; • Provide group and individual instruction to motivate students and effectively utilize the time available for instructional activities; • Use assessment data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices; • Evaluate academic growth of students and maintain appropriate records; • Participate in curriculum development, grade-level activities, and school-wide functions; • Support students’ academic, social, and emotional development; • Implement curricula and activities to meet academic standards; • Design and implement assessments that measure progress towards academic standards; • Communicate effectively and consistently with students, families, and colleagues; • Provide support, accommodations, and attention to all students; • Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to school improvement efforts; • Ensure students are engaged and invested in the classroom and managing behavior; • Complete other related duties as assigned. Job Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree Required; Master’s Degree preferred;
• Appropriate Massachusetts teaching licensure through the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education;
• Ability to provide a structured, orderly, safe, and respectful school environment;
• An entrepreneurial spirit that reflects an openness to change, willingness to problem-solve, and an interest in developing new ideas and programs;
