Job Description
Canton High School is seeking a dynamic Educational Assistant who values equity, and social-emotional learning and supports the growth and development of all students. Qualified candidates will have demonstrated success in developing and fostering strong relationships with teachers, students, and families and value ongoing collaboration with colleagues.
Position Details
Educational Assistants support students within their classrooms and maximize their engagement with instruction and ownership of their learning.
Students may have IEP services or 504 accommodations, which will be supported by the Educational Assistant. At Canton High School, Educational Assistants assist students and teachers in traditional academic courses, as well as in each of our support programs. We maintain a sub-separate program for students with cognitive/developmental challenges, as well as a therapeutic program for students with emotional disabilities.
All Educational Assistants are hired at the building level, and assigned where needed/will be of most benefit to students. Our priority is to place Educational Assistants in areas that maximize their skills and interests, but flexibility is required to ensure appropriate staffing/supports are in place where needed.
Qualified candidates will:

Provide a safe, inclusive, and welcoming learning environment for all learners.
Communicate effectively with students, families, colleagues, and administrators.
Possess a growth mindset and work collaboratively as part of a student's educational support team.
High School diploma required, Bachelor's Degree preferred.
