invites applications for a full-time, tenured or tenure-track faculty position beginning in the 2023-2024 academic year. Duties include teaching, scholarship, and service as set forth in **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. Blewett School of Law Faculty Handbook. Our primary curricular need is in the area of American Indian and/or Tribal Law, with additional curricular needs in areas such as Federal Courts, Employment Law, Family Law, and Clinical Supervision. We are committed to integrating theory with practice, making practice experience and experience working with or on behalf of tribal governments, communities, or people particularly valuable.
Montana has twelve tribal nations (with eight federally-recognized tribes). Home to the first Indian Law clinic in the country, the Margery Hunter Brown Indian Law Clinic, the law school offers a Certificate in American Indian Law and partners with tribes to provide students a broad range of experiences working in Indian Country. Situated in Missoula, the recreational center of Western Montana, the law school has a vibrant faculty and a close connection with our students, the bench, and the bar. Missoula is a wonderful place to live and work and is home to a wide range of renowned writers, artists, musicians, and outdoor enthusiasts.
