Job Description:

General Summary

: Assist the Director and the EMM organization in achieving the University's enrollment management goals by providing data management, data manipulation and technical support regarding the Common Application, SLATE CRM System, BANNER, Axiom and other software systems for the University admissions processes.

Job Duties

Maintains the integrity of all student and family data received and stored in all Enrollment Services systems. This includes testing the reliability of data conversions, rules tables' functionality, accuracy of reports, etc. Responsible to develop and implement audit reports as needed. Consults with Associate Director of Enrollment Operations to correct errors and performs follow up training with staff as necessary.

Responsible for a comprehensive knowledge of the Banner Admission System, CRM, and Admissions Applications (Common App/Apply Yourself data especially as they relate to day-to-day operations and processes in order to analyze and solve technical issues. Knowledge may also include structures, tables, forms, data integrity and security, flow of data across processes/units/software systems, and for creating and maintaining data integration between Banner, other SPU licensed systems, and inquiry sources such as the Common Application, Apply Yourself, CRM, RNL, other student source files. Will maintain departmental data security and functional end user security profiles.

Business Intelligence/Data Reporting Gather and enhance the reporting of SLATE by using knowledge of data analytics and providing additional support of performance measures, ongoing measurement, data collection, reporting, data visualizations, and information dissemination.

Partners with Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions in the innovative and analytical approach to understand our data, make informed conclusions, and lead appropriate change for Admissions.

Utilize the knowledge of business intelligence tools, like Power BI, to develop, build. and refine business intelligence reports and visualization tools.

Responsible for supporting strategic design and supporting the maintenance of business intelligence applications. Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems.

Responsible to coordinate with CIS the processes and procedures that maintain data security and confidentiality in accordance with all local, state, and federal regulations (e.g. FERPA).

Participates in regularly scheduled Systems and Data Management Group (SDMG) meetings. Identifies and forwards policy and procedure questions to the Associate Director of Enrollment Operations.

Creates effective partnerships and works collaboratively with the technical staff in University Recruitment and Admissions (Undergraduate & Graduate Admissions and Enrollment Communications), Student Academic Services, Student Financial Services, Institutional Research, Human Resources, University Communications, other enrollment services, and other departments.

Coordinates training of certain staff for efficient use of the Ellucian BANNER system and CRM system. Provides appropriate and timely training to admissions staff on CRM as requested and needed.

Identifies and reports departmental computer hrdware and software needs and resolves routine hardware and software problems as they arise or elevates to Computer and Information Services as needed.

Data entry for Graduate and Undergraduate Admissions as required, which could include recruiting, admissions or registration data entry items. Maintains a comprehensive policy and procedure manual, which includes written documentation for CRM and BANNER admissions and recruiting. Assist in the testing and implementation of new functionality and upgrades to the existing system, including creating new processes as needed.

Serves on the Enrollment and SFS Operations leadership team with the Assistant Vice-President of Enrollment Operations and Student Financial Services and Associate Director of Enrollment Operations, and Associate Director of SFS Operations.

Provides support to the Associate Director of Enrollment Operations for all local and baseline programs and processes, which may include writing and testing SQL and Perl programs, responding to ad hoc information requests, import/export requests, installation of new patches/releases to relevant software, and developing and maintaining written procedures for all processes. Will seek to automate processes as appropriate and provide business process analysis with a focus on efficiency.

Requirements:

Bachelors' degree in information systems management/related field or comparable experience in computer system management.

Three or more years working with integrated enterprise resource planning software. Excellent problem solving and investigative skills.

Excellent attention to detail, with a highly organized approach to data management. Superior written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to handle multiple priorities and context switch quickly. Ability to manage stress in self and others in a positive manner.

Ability to recognize the potential for errors with processes and reports, their business wide ramifications and how to solve or mitigate those errors.

General sense of curiosity coupled with an eagerness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelors' degree in information systems management/related field or comparable experience in computer system management.

Three or more years' experience with Ellucian Banner system or similar Student Information System.

Two or more years' experience with SLATE constituent resource management system.

Experience in college/university administration, admission or other enrollment management area.

Basic understanding of query generation using SQL on an Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server platform. Basic PERL scripting for process management. Familiarity with Business Intelligence software (e.g., Argos, Tableau or similar).

Additional Information:

Position will remain open until filled.

Rate per hour: $28.85 - $29.80 DOE

This is a full time position with excellent benefits. SPU pays the employee premium for medical, dental, and vision insurance.
