Job Description
The Sudbury Public Schools, a prek-8 district, is seeking a skilled, experienced and dynamic special education teacher to work as an Elementary Special Educator. The special education teacher will work in a model of service delivery offering academic support, co-teaching and inclusionary practices in general education classrooms combined with pull out instruction for small groups and individuals. Key Duties & Responsibilities: • Plan for the effective instruction and intervention for students on IEPs; • Administer formal diagnostic assessments and tests for students initially referred and for three-year re-evaluations of caseload students; • Administer ongoing progress monitoring, strategic monitoring and benchmark systems; • Schedule, prepare for, and attend Team meetings for newly referred and caseload students; • Write comprehensive progress reports; • Collaborate with general education staff with respect to appropriate accommodations and modifications; • Provide ongoing positive communication with parents; • Collect and analyze student data against IEP goals; • Other related duties as assigned. Job Requirements
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred;
• Must have a Massachusetts licensure in Moderate Special Needs 1-6 through the Department of Elementary & Secondary Education;
• Must have demonstrated success with and be knowledgeable about research-based interventions for children with these disabilities;
• Must possess demonstrated ability to develop positive behavior intervention plans;
• Experience in Wilson/O-G, EmPOWER Writing, executive functioning training a plus;
• Experience with the administration and interpretation of a wide range of formal and informal diagnostic assessment and evaluation tools;
• Excellent writing and communication skills required.
Hiring is contingent upon a successful CORI and fingerprinting clearance. All finalists will be required to provide official transcripts.
