Job Goal
Summer programming at Capuano offers experiences for children with little to no prior preschool or kindergarten experience, or who would benefit from summer programming as they transition to kindergarten or first grade.
These summer programs provide opportunities for students to become oriented to the classroom and school setting and practice early literacy, language, and math skills. The daily schedule includes free breakfast and lunch, classroom activities including directed learning experiences in academic areas, opportunities for play, and enrichment activities. In addition, there are parent engagement activities during the week to support home-school connections.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Parent/Guardian English Classes Program.
Familiarity with the Somerville Public Schools and the Somerville community.
A demonstrated commitment to parent involvement and parent leadership development.
Ability to support bilingual/multicultural communication with diverse students and families.
Responsibilities
Outreach to families during registration
Support program attendance
Co-plan and deliver family engagement activities with the Director and Extended Day Coordinator
Support resource and referral for families in need.
Work with special education families and the Director and Extended Day Coordinator to support needs of the population
