Description
The role of the Federal Grants and State Assessment Administrator
is to coordinate the application, amendment process, and spending for all federal grants and coordinate the MCAS administration from the district level. This position is subject to available federal grant funding.
Qualifications
Master degree in education leadership or related field preferred.
Administration license preferred.
Experience in instructional leadership, school leadership, and district-level coaching strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
Submit applications and amendments to DESE for all federal grants including Title I, IIA, III, IV, ESSER, IDEA 240, after consultation with and approval of district administrators (e.g. Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Curriculum Director, Special Education Director, and/or Multilingual Learner Director)
Review and evaluate federal grant opportunities with the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent of Academics to determine their alignment with the academic mission and strategic goals of the school district, and recommend proposals/revisions that align with the curriculum department's priorities and objectives
Oversee grant spending and financial health of all federal grants in regular consultation with the Finance Department, ensuring that all activities fall within allowable spending guidelines outlined by DESE and the Federal Government
Conduct Needs Assessments/Surveys that are required under any federal grants
Write annual reports and prepare auditing materials as required by DESE, the City of Somerville, and other relevant entities (ex. Single Audit, Coordinated Program Review, Title Grant End of Year Report)
Compile annual Time and Effort Reporting for all federal grants and provide them
in a timely way to the Finance Department for auditing purposes
Consult with all private schools required under federal grants, commencing with outreach in the Spring and completing consultation meetings and subsequent action steps for participating schools
Prepare and submit required Title I compliance reports including Comparability
(November) and District Report Cards (February)
In conjunction with the SFLC and Curriculum Department, coordinate the required delivery of annual Title I parent involvement activities including any notices and parent involvement events
Support MCAS administration at the district level, including managing the PearsonAccess Next system downloads/uploads for schools, supporting schools with accommodations, training principals, and general troubleshooting
Manage the Student Insights platform including working with project engineers who maintain software/security and troubleshoot issues, training new employees, and providing access/password modifications as needed
Develop and deliver training to enhance the skills and knowledge of other staff in federal grant and MCAS administration
Facilitate knowledge sharing and organizational training to foster a culture of continuous learning and growth within the district
Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as administration may from time to time assign
