Job Description

Title: Title One Tutor

Reports to: Building Principal

Position Summary: The role of the Title One Tutor is to provide academic instruction to students in collaboration with other members of the intervention team. The primary focus of this position will be on students in grades k-2.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide academic instruction in the area of literacy;

Record and summarize data;

Write progress notes;

Communicate with families, including hosting an informational meeting;

Work collaboratively with team members;

Actively participate in on-going training;

Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Principal, Assistant Principal, Humanities Coordinator, or designee.

Job Requirements

Meets the Department of Education Guidelines for Highly Qualified Paraprofessionals which includes: High school diploma or equivalent and an Associate's (or higher) degree OR Completion of 48 credit hours at an Institution of Higher Education OR Completion of one of the formal Massachusetts-endorsed Assessments (Parapro or WorkKeys).

Prior experience working with children

Background in literacy instruction or elementary education

Flexible attitude and ability to work in teams.

Classification: ESPAS Level 9 Unit Position

Schedule: 0.8 FTE

Salary: Based on the Collective Bargaining Contract

Covid19 Vaccination Required Bachelor degree preferred

Citizenship, residency or work VISA in United States required
