at the University of Montana invites applications for two (2) tenure-track
Assistant Professor
positions in the
Department of
Computer Science
to begin August 2022. While candidates from all research areas are strongly encouraged to apply, we are particularly interested in candidates from areas that extend the range of expertise of our faculty. Examples of such areas include but aren’t limited to machine learning, software engineering, and cybersecurity. The successful candidates will contribute to teaching across the undergraduate curriculum as well as graduate offerings in their area of expertise.
Successful applicants will have a doctorate in computer science or a closely related field; evidence of or potential for teaching and research excellence; effective oral and written communication skills; an ability to teach, supervise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students; interest in curriculum development; preparedness to develop an independently-funded research program; record of research and publication history; and a commitment to recruiting and supporting diverse groups of students. The full-time teaching load is two courses per academic semester, but releases may be given to faculty actively involved in funded research.

Required Qualifications
Doctorate in computer science or a related field
Ability to teach, supervise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students
Evidence of or potential for teaching and research excellence
Record of research and publication history
Position is full-time, Faculty (10 month) academic year, beginning fall semester 2022) and includes a comprehensive and competitive benefits package
