General Statement of Duties:
The Urban Action Institute Works to promote student development and to collaboratively address social, political, and economic injustices in our society through collective, transformative action that bridges lines of difference and forges community. The Urban Action Institute has recently been working to address food insecurity through the use of an ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act) Grant. Recently the UAI has been working on starting a pilot program that would equip spaces on campus with tools to help address food insecurity on campus. The Graduate Student Employee for the ARPA Grant will assist the UAI in the collection and analysis of survey data related to food insecurity at WSU.
Responsibilities:
Provides assistance to conduct surveys on food insecurity at Worcester State University
Helps coordinate and support work for others students to staff in ARPA Grant projects office by training them and assisting them with questions and concerns
Assists with research of UAI projects such as Information Tables, and other related activities related to the ARPA grant, etc.
General assistance to maintain the UAI initiatives and projects
Requirements:
Qualifications:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
Motivated, with demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Demonstrated ability to work on quantitative research projects, particularly surveys.
