General Statement of Duties:
The Urban Action Institute has been working to address food insecurity through the use of the ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act) Grant. Recently the UAI has been working on starting a pilot program that would equip spaces on campus with tools to help address food insecurity on campus. The ARPA Grant, Student Employee will help the UAI to do outreach, collect data, and work within the greater Worcester community as part of this pilot project. This includes helping to educate our student body about different programs and services available for individuals who are food insecure. More generally, student employees will support the different UAI initiatives around Food Insecurity.
Responsibilities:
Help conduct surveys on food insecurity at Worcester State University
Connects with other offices and departments on campus to promote UAI events related to food insecurity
Assist in the planning and implementation of initiatives to address food insecurity on campus
Work with community partners to help create more space on campus for food security initiatives
Makes photocopies, answers the phone and provides general clerical support
Requirements:
Qualifications:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
Motivated, with demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Skills related to quantitative research preferred.
