Job Description
ABA Tutor - Noyes Elementary School
Reports to: Principal and Director of Student Services
Position Summary: The role of the ABA Tutor is to implement an intensive skills based program that is grounded in the principles
of applied behavior analysis. This work is performed under the direct supervision of a Master’s Level Head Teacher.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
-Aid in planning and implementing academic and behavioral programming for assigned students in
collaboration with other members of the team;
-Record, enter and summarize data;
-Assist in data collection and the writing of progress reports in collaboration with the Lead Teacher;
-Meet regularly with team members;
-Embed into teaching and learning the student’s skills learned in related services (OT, PT, Speech and
Language, etc.) per the recommendations of the service providers;
-Accommodate and modify general education curriculum and instructions to meet student’s needs
and skill level to insure successful inclusion experiences;
-Actively participate in ongoing professional development;
-Collaborate with other team members;
-Other related duties as assigned. Position Type:

Job Requirements
Qualifications:
-Meets the Department of Education Guidelines for Highly Qualified Paraprofessionals which includes:
-High School diploma or equivalent and an Associate’s (or higher) degree;
OR
Completion of 48 credit hours at an Institution of Higher Education;
OR
Completion of one of the formal Massachusetts-endorsed Assessments: Parapro or WorkKeys;
-Bachelor’s degree in education, special education, psychology or related field preferred;
-Experience in teaching and supporting children with autism, emotional impairments, communication disorders, and/or learning disabilities required;
-Demonstrated warmth, caring, and respect in the approach to children and parents required;
-A strong commitment to children with significant disabilities required;
-Familiarity with the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis required.
Classification: ESPAS Level 9 Unit Position
Schedule: 1.0 FTE Citizenship, residency or work VISA in United States required
