Highly structured maximum support program serving
students K-5 with significant cognitive disabilities and global delays ●
Follows the Extensions of the NC Standard Course of Study (alternative
achievement standards) ● Instructional Focus: functional academics, social
skills, daily living skills, self-help skills, life skills and
recreation/leisure for success in a community environment
Candidates must hold or be eligible for a NC Special Education--Adapted Curriculum license or other qualifying teaching license.
The
preferred candidate will have demonstrated expertise in classroom management
and in differentiating instruction with diverse learners. Must be able to develop effective student relationships
that promote learning and student engagement. Requires collaborative
strength to work with teachers, agencies, and parents to plan, implement, and
monitor IEPs.
