Burlington School District is seeking a School Psychologist for the 2022- 2023 School Year
JOB GOAL:
Determines the eligibility of students for special education by administering and interpreting cognitive, academic achievement, and social-emotional functioning assessments. Inform teachers and parents about student needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Facilitate special education evaluation process from pre-referral through eligibility decision
- Review student records and analyzes information pertinent to student learning and school adjustment needs. Conduct comprehensive evaluations (cognitive/academic/social-emotional) for special education/504 within state
timelines
- Conduct informal and formal observations of students as part of the evaluation process.
- Administer and interpret individual tests of cognitive functioning, academic achievement, and behavior, and social-emotional functioning. Conduct other assessments as warranted from student data.
- Serve as a member of the multidisciplinary assessment team that determines student eligibility for special education and develops the recommended educational program for the individual student
- Write evaluation reports, functional behavioral assessment write-ups, and relevant special education paperwork.
- Participate as a member of the school Educational/Behavioral Support Teams
- Participate in team-based comprehensive risk assessments and safety planning processes
- Provide staff consultation/development
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide crisis intervention as part of the school crisis team
- Provide direct service (individual/group counseling)
- Participate as a member of the PBIS committee
- Support students on Section 504 Plans
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Masters/ Post-Masters Advanced Graduate degree / Doctoral Degree in School Psychology
- NASP NCSP Licensure and/or Eligible for Licensure as a School Psychologist by the Vermont Agency of Education
SALARY:
As per the Master Agreement between the Burlington Board of School Commissioners and the Burlington Education Association.

Job Requirements
At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred
