7/8 Grade Middle School Math Teacher - Long Term Substitute
Lyman C. Hunt Middle School is looking to fill a temporary vacancy for a Middle School Math Teacher from May 11th until the end of the school year.

Required Qualifications:

Licensed or eligible for Vermont Educators License.
The endorsement in the subject area or eligible for Vermont Provisional License.
Documented NCLB Highly Qualified Teacher status.
Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Understanding of Cultural Competency (As explained through Essay 1)
School experience at the elementary level
Familiarity with integrated technology as a learning tool
Knowledge of best practices regarding student management protocols
Knowledge of elementary research-based best practices
Preferred Qualifications:
Training and experience with English Language Learners
Evidence of strong connection with students and families.
Experience in a professional/teaching-learning community
Knowledge of assessments and use of data to inform instruction
Experience in implementing inclusive practices
Strong communication skills as evidenced through quality of resume and cover letter
Ongoing educational coursework
The Burlington School District is accepting early applications for their lower and upper elementary classroom teachers. The interviewing process will not begin until an actual opening occurs in a specific school. Long Term Substitutes are compensated at the rate of $125 daily for the first 30 days of employment, and $240.19 daily for each subsequent day.
