invites applications for an instructor or
Visiting Assistant Professor (VAP) in Japanese Language and/or Studies
. There is possibility for renewal for at least an additional year, based on satisfactory performance and department needs. Teaching responsibilities will be three courses per semester in Japanese language, and/or, depending on the expertise of the applicant, two courses in Japanese language and one course in the area of the applicant’s specialization.
An adjunct, per-class teaching opportunity may also be available for a partner or spousal accommodation.

Position Details
Position is full-time, 1.0 FTE, (Academic Year) Faculty Position, and includes a comprehensive and competitive benefits package

Possibility for renewal for at least an additional year, based on satisfactory performance and department needs.
Salary for this position is $47,000 per year commensurate with qualifications.
Required Skills
Excellent written and oral communications skills
Native or near-native proficiency in Japanese, and experience teaching language at the university level.
Required Experience
Master’s degree or ABD in a related field.
