Qualifications
Must have Visual Art Education Diploma with appropriate Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Educator's Licensure is required – K8. (SPED, ESL or ELL Licensure Preferred)

Responsibilities
As per the Somerville Educators/Teachers Association, Unit A Collective Bargaining Agreement
Create and deliver unit/lesson plans that aligns with the Somerville Public Schools Visual Arts Program and MA DESE Visual Arts Frameworks
for all learners of various skill levels
Ability to acquire and facilitate classroom management systems – Aspen, Insights, Google classroom for assignments
Communications skills: Proficient in writing and editing to meet the needs of the students and with colleagues
Classroom Management: the ability to work in a fast-pace environment with creative solutions
Accurate and timely reporting of student grades and performance
Must be student-centered and work well in teams with students and colleagues
Working knowledge of MLE practices
Demonstrated collaborative and interdisciplinary teaching and exhibition practices of student work and/or with artist –in-residence
Anticipated Coverage dates:
Mid April 2023 through last day of school year
