Job Description
Special Education Teacher - Long Term Substitute
The Sudbury Public Schools, a prek-8 district, is seeking a skilled, experienced and dynamic special education teacher to work as a Special Educator/Long Term Substitute. The special education teacher will work in a model of service delivery offering academic support, co-teaching and inclusion practices in general education classrooms combined with pull out instruction for small groups and individuals.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
• Plan for the effective instruction and intervention for students on IEPs;
• Administer formal diagnostic assessments and tests for students initially referred and for three-year re-evaluations of caseload students;
• Administer ongoing progress monitoring, strategic monitoring and benchmark systems;
• Schedule, prepare for, and attend Team meetings for newly referred and caseload students;
• Write comprehensive progress reports;
• Collaborate with general education staff with respect to appropriate accommodations and modifications;
• Provide ongoing positive communication with parents;
• Collect and analyze student data against IEP goals;
• Other related duties as assigned.
Coverage is for staff member on maternity leave.
Dates: 8/29/22-November 2022 approximately

Job Requirements
Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred;
•Must have a Massachusetts licensure in Moderate Special Needs 5-9 through the Department of Elementary & Secondary Education;
•Must have demonstrated success with and be knowledgeable about current research-based interventions for children with these disabilities;
•Must possess demonstrated ability to develop positive behavior intervention plans;
•Experience in Wilson/O-G, EmPOWER Writing, executive functioning training a plus;
•Experience with the administration and interpretation of a wide range of formal and informal diagnostic assessment and evaluation tools;
•Excellent writing and communication skills required
Hiring is contingent upon a successful CORI and fingerprinting clearance. All finalists will be required to provide official transcripts.
