GWSPH
) is seeking applicants for a specialized teaching faculty appointment in the Department of Health Policy and Management. This is a 12-month position with a 2-year renewable contract to begin as early as July 1, 2022. Applicants with an interest in teaching undergraduate and graduate Public Health students on-campus and online primarily in the area of health administration are invited to apply. Appointment as a teaching assistant professor or teaching associate professor will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
GWSPH

Department faculty are engaged in a wide variety of research projects focusing on equity, social determinants of health, cross sector public health partnerships, post-acute systems, health system leadership, health system reform, health informatics, health law, public and private health care financing and pricing, health system innovation, healthcare quality, healthcare access and disparities, community health centers, health ethics, health justice, and health workforce.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Job Description:
The successful candidate will support the teaching mission of the
HPM
Department. The position may include course director responsibilities for undergraduate health administration courses as well as graduate-level health administration and policy courses in-person and online. Educational administrative responsibilities, student advising, and participation in faculty committees may also be included. The position will include participation in monthly department faculty meetings.
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must have:
A doctorate including a PhD, DrPH,
DHA
, JD, MD, PharmD,
DNP
, in health administration, business administration, public health, or a clinical degree such as the DO, or MD, or equivalent degree in a related field conferred by the time of start date.
Experience in health care administration, in areas such as operations, finance, insurance, or management consulting;
Evidence of innovative teaching;
Experience/demonstrated commitment to teaching and mentoring underrepresented students;
Interest or experience in advising students.
