Courses in this program generally taught by adjunct faculty include, but are not limited to:
SPED 5420 Foundations of Learning Disabilities
SPED 5430 Diagnosis of Learning Disabilities
SPED 6210 Physiological Basis of Learning Disabilities
SPED 6440 Correction of Learning Disabilities
SEPD 6570 Seminar in Clinical Application to Learning Disabilities
Courses take place both in class and online and as such have required online components.
Program Overview:
This endorsement program is designed for experienced classroom teachers who hold a teaching certificate and an accredited master's degree. Upon successful completion of the required curriculum, the candidate is eligible for the New Jersey certificate as a Learning Disabilities Teacher-Consultant (LDT-C). This certification is not a teaching certification, but a certificate to serve as the LDT-C on the child study team in New Jersey schools. Upon successful completion of the required curriculum and documented three years of teaching experience, the candidate is eligible for the New Jersey certificate as a Learning Disabilities Teacher-Consultant (LDT-C). Alternatively, applicants can earn a Master's in Education with a Learning Disabilities concentration with teacher consultant certification.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Using the course outline as a guide, develop relevant syllabi in order to deploy course content, objectives, and methods of student assessment for up to six (6) credits per semester in graduate courses (see course listing above)
Participate actively in the online discussions: sharing experiences and perspectives; probing students with questions that require critical thinking skills; highlighting key learning points; answering student questions.
Administer evaluations of student performance based on course deliverables and course rubrics. All course grades will be posted on the Blackboard Grade Center in a timely manner.
Contribute to student success by providing consistent and effective support and guidance through role modeling and mentoring
Use WP email, Blackboard, and other WP specific technology (Starfish / Banner) for a variety of teaching and administrative applications
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
Earned Masters degree
NJ Certification of LDT-C
Minimum of 3 years employment in a public school system as an LDT-C (all facets of the LDT-C position, testing administration experience required)
If recent graduate of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***., at least 3 years post-graduation
Preferred Qualifications:
One or more years teaching in higher education
