\r\n\tPosition Overview\r\n\r\n\tAs part of MSU Extension (MSUE) and the Community, Food and Environment Institute (CFEI), this position provides expertise in Community Food Systems programs. This position will have statewide responsibilities and will collaborate across work teams, Institutes, and community groups, working with faculty, specialists, and educators for overall advancement of the needs of the clientele.\r\n\r\n\t \r\n\r\n\tIn this position, you will work to identify, design, implement and evaluate programs that meet outreach needs related to farm to institution, urban food systems, and local food/food access education. Your outreach efforts will support marketing of MSUE s services, including participation in the implementation of MSUE events. You will participate in activities that support initiatives like the Michigan Good Food Charter, Michigan Food Hub Learning and Innovation Network, and 10 Cents a Meal. You will also host workshops, webinars, and other educational experiences for food and farm businesses related to planning, policy, and decision-making. Working within the primary service area of Genesee, Bay, Saginaw, and Midland, will allow you to focus on local partnerships.\r\n\r\n\t \r\n\r\n\tThrough collaboration in research and engagement with community members, and dissemination of research through various methods, including in-person and multimedia programming and written communications, you will implement programs that lead to public knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors that achieve food systems literacy, build consensus within communities that support food systems, and may result in support of urban farms, community gardens, and other community-based physical spaces that support food access. You will also develop, produce, and deliver articles, bulletins, factsheets, guides, and other materials, such as podcasts, and videos on topics related to the local food system and food and farm business development with messaging and content that is accessible and inclusive and is consistent with the CFEI messaging.\r\n\r\n\t \r\n\r\n\tYour work will include close collaboration with colleagues at MSU, as well as the diverse network of partner groups that include Edible Flint, farmers markets, food pantries, and other organizations that support community members growing and accessing healthy food.\r\n\r\n\t \r\n\r\n\tMinimum Qualifications (see full description for complete list of requirements)\r\n\r\n\t\r\n\t\tMaster s degree in agriculture, community development, food systems, sustainability, land use planning, or a related field.\r\n\r\n\r\n\t \r\n\r\n\tApplication Process\r\n\r\n\tView full description and apply through the MSU careers page.
