The Department of Biological Sciences in the College of Natural Sciences is collecting application materials for a pool of part-time lecturers with positions available as determined by need during the 2022-23 academic year. Areas of need include cellular and molecular biology; ecology evolution and organismal biology; and microbiology. Appointments from the part-time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term.
Minimum Qualifications:
The minimum education requirement for a lecturer appointment in the department is an MA or MS in Biology or related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual candidates will be given preference.
Responsibilities:
Lecturer positions in the department carry responsibilities in the area of teaching lower and upper level undergraduate courses. Teaching assignments are based upon qualifications of the individual and the needs of the department.
The Department:
The Department of Biological Sciences offers three undergraduate degrees including BA in Biology, BS in Biology with options in Plant Biology, Ecology Evolutionary and Organismal Biology, Cellular and Molecular Biology, and a BS in Microbiology with options in General Microbiology, Clinical Laboratory Science, as well as an MS in Biology. The department also offer a number of service courses to related majors and general education.
