Job Description:
The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Assumption University invites applications for a full-time position as Professor of Practice commencing with the 2023/2024 academic year. The position carries a teaching load of eight courses for the academic year. The successful applicant should be able to teach a broad range of Cybersecurity courses. The instruction modality for this position will be on-campus, in-person. We seek a candidate committed to high quality teaching and undergraduate mentoring and advising, with an interest in participating in student-faculty research. We also seek a candidate with professional experience and/or industry certifications and familiarity with the Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD) program defined by the National Security Agency (NSA).
Requirements:
* Master of Science degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, or a related field, required;
* ABD graduate students with prior teaching experience may also be considered;
* Must be willing to contribute actively to the mission of the University, including its commitment to diversity and inclusion as well as showing respect for the Catholic and Assumptionist identity;
* Vaccinated and boostered for COVID-19 required.

Applicants should submit a cover letter, current curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching philosophy, a statement of any experience as a mentor for student research, a statement outlining the applicant's vision for advancing the Cybersecurity program, and the names and contact information for three references who can attest to the applicant's teaching experience and qualifications. Finalists will also be asked to provide official transcripts of academic work from the highest degree-granting institution and three written letters of recommendation.
