Job Description:
General Summary:
Manages financial operations and contracting activity for the School of Business, Government and Economics (SBGE) and its affiliated Centers for Applied Learning and Faithful Business. Works closely with the Dean and the Center Directors to establish budgets, as well as guidelines for utilization of 30 restricted/designated funds available to supplement the general operating budget. Applies discretion and independent judgement, as well as in-depth knowledge of available resources, to ensure accurate processing and allocation of both expenses and revenue. Manages the contracting process for adjunct and overload instructors, as well as for individuals and organizations tasked with doing special projects for the School and its Centers. Designs and prepares both routine and ad hoc financial reports, for the Dean and Center Directors, to update them on financial activity and/or to support decision-making. This is a 0.6 FTE position, and is eligible for remote work status (for employees in WA state).
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree.
1-3 years of relevant office experience.
Strong relational and organizational skills.
Strong analytical skills, ability to work independently and to effectively prioritize and manage tasks ranging from detailed to strategic.
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, with a particular emphasis on experience in Excel.
Preferred qualifications:
Bachelor's in Business or Accounting related field.
Experience in Banner (Elucian), Argos and Tableau. Excel certification.
5 years of office experience and/or experience in a higher education setting.
Additional Information:
Position will remain open until filled.
This is a part time, 24 hour per week position. The nature of this work may be done remotely after an initial training period. Employee must reside in Washington state.
Salary: $29.82 - $32.27 per hour, DOE
This is a part time position with an offer of benefits. SPU pays a portion of the employee premium for medical, dental, and vision insurance. SPU makes contributions to an employee HSA account and to a retirement account after meeting eligibility in the plan.
