Job Description:
Job Summary:
The Director oversees the university enrollment advising and outreach efforts to impact student success and retention. This position directly supervises a team of 9 academic advisors while overseeing the continued refinement of policies and procedures to promote student success. The Director advocates for students in need of additional support and recommends opportunities for resources to address any gaps in services. The position develops strategies for registration, interventions, and other student outreach efforts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Create an environment that supports a student-centric mentality across all staff. Assist in the development of specific processes and activities that promote the quality of student service among all staff.
Create and maintain an effective system of transition for incoming students from Orientation through official matriculation. Track and provide special support to incoming students identified as facing possible academic challenges. Direct academic advisors in gathering appropriate orientation, registration, and matriculation data for the use of recruiting and admissions yield reporting and trend detection and prediction.
Lead a highly effective enrollment and advising team in initiatives and strategies designed to support recruitment, retention, and degree completion of an academically prepared diverse student body, while fostering a climate of accountability, teamwork, and responsive service.
Create an engaging, motivational, and coaching culture for the team. Engage in development activities that develop and support staff.
Implement student recruitment strategies and procedures to achieve enrollment and student persistence goals. Develop and implement measures to maximize recruitment opportunities and minimize attrition. Solicit feedback from direct reports to gather input to develop training and enrollment strategies. Monitor the effectiveness of lead-tracking, enrollment conversions, and turn-a-round time procedures, and reports progress to VP on an as needed or routine basis.
Complete, analyze, and present reports related to activities supporting recruitment, enrollment, and retention of students on a regular basis.
Work in collaboration with other departments, units, deans, and executive leadership to build strategic alignment to advance student success.
Assume departmental fiscal responsibility, including budget preparation and management.
In collaboration with the VP, oversee policies, goals, and initiatives for the university. Communicate administrative and academic policy changes, program updates, marketing, and contact strategy to the enrollment staff.
Review student files as a method of quality control. Ensures students are properly scheduled, financial aid needs are addressed, data is entered into the CRM and PeopleSoft system correctly, and other vital needs have been met or addressed.
Special projects, assignments, and leadership mentoring as designated, continuous quality improvement, and other related duties as assigned by Vice President.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervise the following positions: Enrollment Advisors, Finance Advisors, Enrollment Processors, and Academic Advisors.
Interview, hire, and train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems.
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with CityU policies and applicable laws.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in higher education administration or related field required.
Five to seven years successful experience in higher education, particularly a proven track record in enrollment management in a leadership role.
In-depth knowledge of CRM systems, lead generation analytics.
Ability to act independently in a management role. Proven ability to mediate and resolve conflict, demonstrated interviewing skills, ability to handle multiple tasks in a demanding environment, a higher sense of ethics, action-oriented with proven ability to make decisions.
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to motivate and provide leadership and training in complex areas.
Established problem-solving abilities and resource application.
Proven analytical abilities and logical thinker.
Excellent administrative and organizational skills to facilitate department operations.
Prior experience within a non-traditional institution of higher education is preferred.
Proven ability to motivate and successfully lead a geographically dispersed enrollment team.

This is a remote position.
Some weekend/evening work is required.
Travel, including overnight travel, may be required.
Salary information:
$75,000 -- $100,000/year DOE.
