The College is a vital institution located in central New Jersey, engaged with the community and, above all else, dedicated to student success. The Dean will report directly to the Vice President for Academic Affairs. He or she will provide an essential interface between administration, faculty, students and the surrounding community. The Division consists of mathematics, sciences, and health professions programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Division while also providing leadership for growth and innovation. The Dean will be a visionary with strong teaching, supervisory and administrative experience. He or she must have a record of scholarly accomplishments and a clear understanding of the community college mission, including an understanding of developmental education in a community college context. The individual selected must demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills and understand the use of technology in an educational setting. In addition, the successful candidate must have a commitment to developing, supporting and expanding the programs of the division consistent with the workforce and transfer needs of the local and surrounding region. A Master’s degree in one of the disciplines of the division and a minimum of five years of fulltime teaching in a higher education setting are required. Doctorate preferred. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience. Application review will begin February 2, 2015. The successful candidate will begin on or around July 1, 2015. The position will remain open until filled; however strong consideration will be given to applications received by January 31, 2015.
