Primary Objective: Promote and further teaching and learning practices and assist with school-wide administration in keeping with the mission and core values of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.. Responsible to: Head of School Work in coordination with Head of School across the following administrative areas: Curriculum and Instruction Continue to develop continuity and consistency in philosophy, core values, and teaching practices within and across grade levels. Update and further develop curriculum frameworks. Serve as instructional coach for K-8 Teachers/Guides, Teaching Assistants, and Specialists. Regularly meet with, observe, debrief, and teach demonstration lessons related to teacher goals and targeted areas of growth for grades K-8. Plan and facilitate Wednesday faculty meetings. Assist with the Admissions Assessment process. Coordinate and maintain the K-8 class placement process. Meet with parents and families as needed to support their understanding of our philosophy, curriculum, and teaching practices. Order K-8 curriculum texts annually (e.g. Handwriting Without Tears , Bridges in Mathematics , etc.). Professional Development and Community Learning Plan, implement, and coordinate year-long staff development for teaching staff. Provide leadership and coordination for summer teaching retreat, schedule in-service days, and LT, LT/TA, and grade level meetings. Guide and support teaching staff in developing and completing yearly individual and group goals related to specific content areas and/or teaching strategies. Help organize family education events to help further understanding of Aurora’s curriculum and philosophy. Update and implement new teacher orientation. Evaluate all teaching assistants biannually. Recommend and coordinate staff attendance at workshops and other professional development opportunities. Facilitate program continuity, collaboration, cooperation and growth among teachers by assisting them in scheduling visits to other classrooms both at Aurora and in the greater community. Serve as a resource to staff regarding current research and best practice. Attend professional conferences and workshops and disseminate information in a coordinated and timely manner. School-wide Data Collaborate with faculty to develop, collect, coordinate, analyze, and update school-wide data related to core content areas in alignment with the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. mission. Assist teachers in the implementation of TC assessments at the beginning, middle, and end of the school year. Coordinate the revision of school-wide progress report standards. Assist in proofreading of K-8 progress report checklists and student narratives. Admissions At all grade levels continue to revise admissions assessment tools (progress reports/portfolios/assessment tasks) and coordinate their implementation in the classroom. Assist in revising and maintaining assessment tools for prospective students. Participate in the admissions process. Help organize and attend weekend admissions assessments Assist with weekly admission tours during admission season. General Administration Assist Head of School with school-wide Strategic Planning as needed. Assist in the hiring of new teaching staff. Assist in determining the school calendar. Attend whole staff and administrative team meetings. Coordinate biannual parent-teacher conference sign up. Assist in coordination of substitute teacher coverage for faculty. Serve as an on-campus point person for the IT volunteer. Perform all other duties as assigned by the Head of School Frequency of monthly meetings: Lead Teacher Meetings – ~2x per month LT/TA Meetings – ~2x per month Admin Team Meetings - 2 per month Meeting with Head of School – 2 per month Compensation: Commensurate with experience and education.
