We are looking for talented professionals to join our team at the University of Maryland Medical Center.
General Summary
The Associate Director of Prospect Research occupies an integral position in the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) Foundation in managing sensitive data, researching donor prospects, preparing advanced analysis and reporting to inform strategic decision-making, and providing profiles and reports to the Development staff.
Taking a proactive approach, the Associate Director will develop strategies for identifying potential prospects within the UMMS Foundation's universe, from current donors with potential to increase their giving to grateful patients looking for a way to give back.
They will work collaboratively with frontline fundraisers and their colleagues in operations to capture vital information about the Foundation's supporters - including prior giving, philanthropic interests, capacity and affinity to give - and prioritize prospects for further outreach and cultivation.
Additionally, the Associate Director will help frontline fundraisers develop meaningful relationships with prospects under active management by providing insight on how best to engage at a given time. This role is vital to a best-in-class development shop, and key to thoughtful relationship management.
Principal Responsibilities and Tasks

Support fundraising success of the Foundation by proactively identifying new and high-level major gift prospects through extensive research and analysis.
Devise and distribute regular reporting on portfolios and open solicitations to fundraising colleagues and Foundation leadership; assist with complex data pulls and requests.
Manage the wealth screening process for UMMS Foundation prospects and regularly provide lists and reports to Gift Officers and leadership.
Ensure accuracy of prospect information in development database to inform Gift Officers of pipeline development status.
Prepare research materials for prospect meetings and produce in-depth profiles on current and prospective donors.
Analyze prospect information and interpret data to make recommendations for major gift approaches and direct mail appeals.
Manage the acquisition and use of patient data, including protected health information (PHI); Responsible for ensuring secure transfer of information within and outside of UMMS and adherence to HIPAA guidelines
Manage and implement the entry of patient and donor data into UMMS Foundation database in accurate and timely manner.

What You Need to Be Successful:
Bachelor's degree is required.
Three or more years' experience in development/philanthropy and prospect research required. Healthcare experience and grateful patient data management a plus.
CRM database management experience in Raiser's Edge a plus.
Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical and research skills, exceptional organizational skills, and excellent attention to detail.
Ability to process high levels of data entry efficiently and accurately.
Ability to transform complex data into comprehensible reports.
