We are seeking to appoint a statistician to join the Tropical Disease Epidemiology research group within the Centre for Health Informatics and Statistics (CHICAS, chicas.lancaster-university.uk) at the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. Medical School. You will work with Dr Emanuele Giorgi, Dr Claudio Fronterre and Prof Peter Diggle on the development and application of spatial and spatio-temporal statistical methods for global public health applications.
You will work on the development of statistical methods for the analysis of childhood diseases data from Uganda, in collaboration with scientists from disease modelling group at Penn State University ( ****). This role will be initially appointed until August 2022 and will be further extended subject to confirmation of funding.
You should hold an MSc or equivalent in statistics and/or epidemiology. For appointment at Grade 7 (Senior Research Associate) you should hold a PhD and demonstrate a capacity for methodological research in geospatial statistical methods and their application to population health research.
The post will commence in February 2022, or as soon as possible thereafter.
You will join us on an indefinite contract however the role remains contingent on external funding which at this time is due to come to an end on 30 August 2022.
