The Department for Continuing Education is the leading Continuing Education department in the UK with a large and vibrant annual programme in the history of art, covering all periods of art history, western and non-western art, and a variety of material culture.
We are seeking to appoint a part-time Departmental Lecturer to direct the Advanced Diploma in Local History, and to contribute to the teaching of this and other courses in Local History and related programmes.  
Working closely with the Director of Studies, you will contribute to the imaginative and vigorous development of the Department’s programme in Local History. This may include devising new courses and course syllabuses, teaching materials and methods, including online delivery.
You will have a doctorate in the field and a track record of teaching and examining courses in Local History or a related discipline at undergraduate level.
An awareness of modern pedagogic methods, including online learning and especially asynchronous online teaching, is also an essential requirement.
Experience of directing undergraduate-level courses in the area of Local History would be advantageous.
This part-time post (0.5 FTE) is offered from 1 September 2022 (or as soon as possible thereafter) until 31 August 2024 (in the first instance, with the possibility of extension).
