The Department of Communication Studies at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. invites applications for a fulltime tenure-track Assistant Professor of Rhetoric with a focus in health and/or the environment. We are particularly interested in someone who combines health and/or environmental rhetoric with media studies. Related areas of focus could include science communication or other foci that complement existing areas in the department.
Teaching responsibilities typically include five courses per academic year consistent with department needs and the applicant’s areas of expertise. Applicants should explain how their research and teaching complement existing areas of focus in the department.
Qualifications
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Communication Studies by the date of appointment. Candidates must demonstrate a research focus that addresses socially significant issues broadly construed.
The ideal candidate will have a clearly defined program of research showing strong potential for publication and a record of excellence in teaching at the college level, both face-to-face and on-line.
