Job Description Summary:

DAR
) Division is seeking a Principal Gifts Coordinator.
DAR
is responsible for leading the university's alumni and fundraising efforts and seeks to promote a culture of philanthropy throughout the university community, including alumni, students, parents, faculty, staff, corporations and foundations, patients and other friends. Our goal is to advance GW's mission of excellence in education, research, scholarship, and patient care.
The Principal Gifts Coordinator plays an integral role in supporting and coordinating DAR's work with university leadership. This position works closely with internal stakeholders both in
DAR
and in the Office of the President (
OTP
) to ensure smooth coordination of engagement for the president with the university's donor and alumni communities in a fast-paced environment.
This support position is responsible for providing programmatic and administrative support on various development and alumni relations activities. Core responsibilities include supporting development professionals through the various development initiatives, including correspondence, creation of marketing materials, memorandums, letters, and gift agreements, in addition to travel, scheduling, and logistic support as needed. This position may serve as the primary point of contact for development-related events (dinners, meetings, receptions), including assisting with the planning, execution, and follow up. This position also works to track activities related to development programs and initiatives.
The position requires a high level of judgment and discretion, the utmost attention to detail, and excellent customer service and organization, as well as the ability to multi-task and prioritize. The position also requires a steadfast commitment to confidentiality.
Job Responsibilities:
*Provide support to the Principal Gifts team and assist with its meeting and calendar logistics, reporting and analysis, and data upkeep and filing.
*Coordinate the department's operational activities.
*Assist in the creation and management of key informational documents such as briefing materials, proposals, reports, and correspondence.
*Book and oversee logistical and travel arrangements for VP, President, and other GW leadership traveling for
DAR
.
*Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will hold a high school diploma/
GED
plus 1.5 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications:
At least one year of professional experience, preferably in a development or academic setting.
Ability to work with a high degree of independence and to learn information quickly and accurately.
Aptitude for developing and streamlining processes to maximize efficiencies.
Exceptional writing and editing skills.
Familiarity with standard university protocol and processes.
A strong understanding of event and meeting planning.
Typical Hiring Range
$19.57 - $25.42
