One of 14 units in the world renowned R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center
. Challenging care of the most critically ill patients in Maryland who have sustained multiple traumatic injuries or a severe life-threatening single system injury. Patients are transitioned to this sspecialty focused ortho trauma unit once more stable.

is seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) with a desire to join our premier multidisciplinary team in our Shock Trauma Center Orthopedic Acute Unit
. STC Orthopedic Acute Care is a 12 bed telemetry capable acute care unit that provides high quality care to medically complex post-operative patients. As a specialty focused unit, STC Orthopedic Acute Care provides staff with the unique opportunity to treat both surgically- integrate elective surgical patients, as well as critically-stable trauma patients. Patients on the STC Orthopedic Acute Care unit require frequent monitoring and high level nursing interventions. Patients are admitted with a variety of diagnoses and/or mechanisms of injury, providing vast learning opportunities
STC Orthopedic Acute Care offers experience with cardiac monitoring, detailed assessments, post-operative wound/ dressing care, drain care, medication management, and in-depth collaborative patient care planning. Staff on this unit are empowered and highly encouraged to drive change on the unit, as well as within the organization through evidence based practice and continued engagement within the organizational shared governance model. The Unit offers consistent opportunity for continued growth and development, both professionally and clinically.

What You Need to Be Successful:
Qualifications include:
-Prior RN experience in Orthopedics or trauma preferred
-Nursing Graduates: Sr practicum in Orthopedic acute care unit preferred or student nurse in an orthopaedic setting
-Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred;
-Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland, or eligible to practice due to compact state requirements outlined by the Maryland Board of Nursing
