Applications are invited for a Research Associate to work in the group of Professor Glenn Burley (****@BurleyResearch) at the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. (Glasgow). The Research Associate will be tasked with developing innovative synthetic methodology to site-specifically incorporate modifications into long RNA molecules and RNA-binding proteins. These modifications will be used as probe sites ranging from fluorophore tagging in RNA for single molecule studies and functional groups for their immobilization to surfaces. Photo-caged blocking groups will also be incorporated into RNA-binding proteins.  
The Glasgow-based Research Associate will form part of a multi-disciplinary network (SpliceSelect, @RNAsLoLa) of biologists, chemists, and engineers which is funded through a strategic Longer-Larger (sLoLa) BBSRC grant. This work will involve extensive collaboration between groups based in the Leicester Institute of Structural & Chemical Biology (Professor Ian Eperon, Associate Professor Cyril Dominguez and Professor Andrew Hudson). This position will suit a highly motivated synthetic organic or biological chemist who is interested in applying their synthetic expertise on the Chemistry-Biology interface.
