The Department of Health Science Education at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. invites applications for a Full-Time Instructor or Assistant Professor of Nursing beginning in the 2023-2024 academic year.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Teach foundational and/or medical-surgical Nursing courses.
Teach lecture, laboratory, and clinical courses at a variety of times and locations in response to institutional and student needs.
Participate as a member of an instructional team in the preparation, presentation, and evaluation of learning experiences within an integrated Nursing curriculum.
Plan, supervise, and evaluate student clinical experience in assigned health care facilities; comply with clinical site clearance requirements.
Communicate objectives for student performance to the clinical facility administration and nursing staff; initiate conferences with students encountering clinical difficulties.
Make continuous efforts to improve the quality of instruction through regular assessment and the utilization of innovative methodologies, techniques, and delivery methods.
Work with the K-12 Partnerships office to develop pathways to college for local high school students.
Participate in student advising, and provide access to students through posted office hours, electronic communication and other appropriate methods.
Work collaboratively in a diverse learning institution while actively engaging in initiatives to close the equity gap and remove barriers to success; promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in the classroom.
Regularly evaluate courses to ensure that learning outcomes and assessments are appropriate and effective.
Regularly evaluate students to measure their progress in achieving course objectives, and inform them in a timely manner of their progress.
Pursue trainings, certifications, and other professional development opportunities to stay current in the Nursing field and relevant pedagogical advancements.
Participate in college/departmental professional development activities.
Serve on College-wide committees.
Assist with Departmental strategic planning and outcomes assessment.
Develop and use a syllabus for each course within college and department guidelines.
Review, evaluate, and recommend student learning materials.
Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and community members.
Adhere to College policies and procedures.
Requirements:
A minimum of a Master's degree in Nursing from ACEN, NLNAC or CCNE-accredited institution.
Current New Jersey Registered Nursing License.
Prior classroom teaching and clinical supervision experience.
Ability to teach Foundations and Medical-Surgical Nursing courses.
CPR certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
Doctoral degree in Nursing from ACEN, NLNAC or CCNE-accredited institution.
Ability to teach Psychiatric, Pediatric, and Obstetric Nursing courses.
Certification in specialty area.
Experience using technology in the delivery of course content.
Online and/or Hybrid teaching experience.
Prior Community College teaching experience.
