Job Summary

The Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders (CSD) in **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.'s College of Health Sciences (CHS) is currently accepting applications for an open rank, full-time (11-month), tenure-track faculty position. Rank, tenure status, and salary are commensurate with qualifications and experience. We invite you to become part of a dynamic group of individuals focused on being leaders in instruction, research, and service.

Primary duties for this position include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, engaging in scholarly activity and participating in clinical activity. Additional duties include advising students and participating in service across the department, college, and university levels. The successful candidate will also assume an active role in the CHS Rehabilitation and Health Sciences PhD Program, a multidisciplinary, multi-institutional Ph.D. program with faculty and students from the disciplines of Athletic Training, Health and Clinical Sciences, Occupational Therapy, Physician Assistant Studies, Physical Therapy, and Speech-Language Pathology (SLP).

About the CSD Program
Our program has offered undergraduate and master's degrees in Communication Sciences and Disorders for over 50 years. The qualified candidate will join an outstanding academic faculty devoted to teaching, research, clinical practice, and service. Our faculty is comprised of 8 certified and licensed SLPs, one certified and licensed audiologist, one dually certified and licensed SLP and audiologist, and one speech physiologist. All faculty are engaged in active clinical practice and/or research. The UK CSD program has had a strong faculty history with two ASHA Honors recipients, eight ASHA Fellows, four state DiCarlo recipients, one national DiCarlo winner, a past president of ASHA, and recipients of multiple teaching awards. Faculty members are currently funded at both the state and national levels (NIH, DoE). Our diverse research portfolio places a high value on translational, interdisciplinary, and collaborative science. The College of Health Sciences is home to a variety of research laboratories and maintains strong collaborative ties with colleagues across campus. The successful candidate will have access to several significant research, clinical and instructional resources including the College's state-of-the-art teaching facilities; the UK Center for the Enhancement of Learning and Teaching; the Center for Telehealth Research Education and Outreach, which provides outreach to rural and incarcerated populations; the UK Voice and Swallow Clinic; the CSD Academic Clinic; the Laryngeal and Speech Dynamics Lab; the School of Music's Voice Performance Program; the Child Development Center of the Bluegrass; the Human Development Institute; the MRISC Neuroimaging Center; the Center for Clinical Translational Sciences; the Sanders-Brown Center on Aging; a contiguous Veteran's Affairs Hospital; the College of Dentistry; the Kentucky Neuroscience Institute; and theoutpatient clinical resources ofCardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital.
