I. JOB OVERVIEW
Job Description Summary:
The Oce of Evaluation plays an integral role in the evaluation of the four-year MD program, as well as monitoring if and how well the curriculum is achieving its goals of helping medical students attain the overall program learning objectives.
We are seeking a Data Analyst, Curriculum Evaluation. This position provides data management, reporting and visualization, and other analytic services to the School of Medicine and Health Sciences to support educational effectiveness and accountability, curriculum programming, outcomes assessment, accreditation standards, and external reporting requirements.
Duties Include:
Analysis/Reporting:
Extracts, compiles, cleans, and manages curriculum-related data from various surveys and other methods of data collection (e.g., interviews and focus groups). Creates codebooks to document dataset properties for the purposes of data sharing and standardization.
Analyzes data using descriptive statistics such as frequencies, means, medians, and percentages to develop error-free evaluation reports for both internal and external use.
Builds and maintains dashboards in Tableau and creates visualizations using Excel, Tableau, and other software.
Performs basic statistical analyses for use by educators and administrators. Analyses include correlation and multiple linear regression analysis, reliability analysis, and analysis of variance (
ANOVA
Prepares written analyses and recommendations that summarize key insights from the data and help educators and administrators interpret findings.
Data Storage/Management:
Builds, documents, and maintains databases. Conducts data entry, cleaning, validation, and extraction. Troubleshoots issues with datasets and escalates to higher authority as needed.
Develops protocols for handling, processing, cleaning, and documenting standard language/codes for data.
Assists with regular reviews of software systems and makes recommendations for new systems that optimize workflow.
Additional duties:
Assists with administering and reviewing surveys to support standardization of data across courses.
Assists with mapping survey data to secondary data sources to link questions to program outcomes.
Establishes relationships with stakeholders to collect primary and secondary data and to ensure accurate interpretation of data.
Leads or supports meetings that relate to curriculum evaluation reporting or program evaluation.
Performs other duties as assigned. The omission of specic duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications:
A Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization preferred (program evaluation and assessment, statistics, data management, data analytics/visualization, information science, applied mathematics).
Technical expertise with Excel.
Prior experience with Tableau.
Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel,
SPSS
, R,
SAS
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of educational data accurately.
Ability to work independently and escalate issues to supervisor(s) as they arise.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Prior experience working with curriculum evaluation data (both qualitative and quantitative).
Prior experience with Qualtrics or similar survey tool.
Prior experience with database creation, management, querying, and coding (e.g.,
SQL
Prior experience in process improvement.
Prior experience translating technical, evaluation data into an understandable format for diverse groups of stakeholders.
Typical Hiring Range
$49,244.73 - $68,898.45
