The postholder will lead a Marketing, Recruitment and International team within the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences to recruit and select students across all markets, UG, PG and International to meet business planning targets. They will provide advice, information and support to leaders in the faculty and will play a key role in the MRI Directorate to deliver University strategic initiatives.
The Faculty has a diverse portfolio of UG & PG programmes with a large international student body. The Faculty has ambitious growth targets, focussed on international and new, innovative programmes.
We are looking to appoint a highly motivated individual who has experience of working at a strategic level in marketing, ideally in a HE environment with a track record of delivering successful strategic and operational initiatives. You’ll be a senior leader within MRI and the faculty and will possess leadership and interpersonal skills to motivate staff to deliver high standards of professional service.
The role will lead all marketing, recruitment and international activities within the faculty, ensuring robust structures and processes are in place to deliver business planning targets. This will include working with senior leaders in the faculty to deliver strategic transformational initiatives, identifying and delivering new opportunities and new funding streams in collaboration with Directors of Learning and Teaching, leading specific strategic projects including portfolio development to ensure the faculty’s future growth and setting targets for student recruitment. This role manages the MRI resources for that faculty, including non-pay budgets and a team of marketing and recruitment professionals. You’ll provide management information reports at Faculty level in association with set targets, effectively communicating with stakeholders to manage buy-in, expectations and provide accurate, timely and relevant information throughout the recruitment cycle. The post is a key part of the wider MRI team within the university and works closely with the Director and Associate Directors to develop faculty plans which align with the wider University strategies and plans.
The role requires experience of working at a strategic level in marketing, developing and implementing strategy in line with organisational goals. It requires strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to negotiate at all levels, both within and outside the organisation. You’llll have a significant track record of success in providing strategic leadership to a broad range of marketing, recruitment and conversion projects. The role requires leadership skills including team management, financial resource management and the ability to chair meetings, project groups and must be an effective senior team member. It is desirable that the candidate has experience of marketing, student recruitment and admissions at a leadership level, including producing and implementing strategy.
