I. DEPARTMENT INFORMATION
Job Description Summary:
A Research Associate position, focused on data analysis, is available in the Department of Global Health with Dr. Emily Smith's research group. The research group focuses on how nutrition and infection shape healthy birth, growth, and development across the lifecycle.

This Research Associate will independently carry out research activities to support high quality, harmonized data collection and analysis on an international, multi-site study to redefine hemoglobin reference values (anemia) in pregnancy.

Using a certain degree of creativity and latitude, the core responsibilities of this position include managing research activities, analyzing data, and interpreting results. This person in this role must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field of epidemiology and global health.

Responsibilities Include:
* Developing data collection forms
* Develop standard operating procedures and related statistical analysis codes for site-specific data quality assessment and cleaning
* Develop and run data analysis for quarterly reports to funding agency
* Analyze data based on statistical analysis plan under general guidance from the Principal Investigator.

Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

The Research Associate will be supervised day-to-day by the PI (Dr. Emily Smith). The initial appointment is for one year, with opportunity for an extension after successful completion of the one year.
Minimum Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will hold a master's degree and 1 year of experience in a related discipline. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position.

Minimum Qualifications: Masters Degree 1 year experience experience programming in Stata (additional experience using
SAS
or R is a bonus).
Preferred Qualifications: Experience living or working outside the US; Experience working with international partners; Commitment to working in multidisciplinary teams, developing and maintaining positive relationships with co-workers and international collaborators.
Typical Hiring Range
$49,554.53 - $69,333.11
