Job Description:

SUNY Delhi seeks a dynamic, forward thinking, and engaging Government and Economics Faculty member to join the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences. The successful candidate must be able to teach introductory courses in the fields of economics, and government, with a particular interest in public policy and environmental economics. Responsibilities include on-line course instruction, academic advisement, and participating in departmental and college affairs. Areas of responsibilities include:
Teaching Responsibilities
Provide evidence-based instruction in accordance with the policies set forth by the College.
Post and keep regular office hours for the convenience of students.
Participate in the assessment of course, student learning, and program outcomes.
Incorporate student service learning opportunities.
Program Development
Participate in annual systematic assessment of program.
Participate in analyzing data and making recommendations for curriculum and programmatic revisions where necessary
Advisement
Assist in advisement of students
Guide and counsel students toward personal and career development
Track student's completion of progression requirements
Academic & Organization Commitment
Serve on campus committees
Mentoring Adjunct Faculty
Special Projects
Participate in faculty meetings
Participate in accreditation reviews and reports
Engage in the academic and organizational life of the college
Pursue scholarly interests
Requirements:
Required Qualifications
Ph.D. with an emphasis in economics, public policy, or related field from an accredited institution.
ABDs anticipating an earned degree by June 2021 will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to teach at the undergraduate and advanced levels
Previous on-line instruction
Ability to engage in scholarly activities
Excellent written and oral communication skills; strong attention to detail; and computer skills
Demonstrated ability to teach diverse populations
Understanding the value of civic engagement
Additional Information:
Salary - Dependent on degree
This is a 10 month academic year, tenure track position
