ASPIRE = Access to STEM Pathways through Integrated Research and Engagement

Reporting to the Dean of College of Science and Health, the ASPIRE Project Coordinator manages the daily activities of the grant project; including grant expenditures, data collection, assessment, effort, and reporting.

The Project Coordinator works with key departments including the WP Admissions Office and Transfer Programs and Special Sessions. The incumbent supervises the Student Success Coaches and the STEM Transfer Success Coordinator to meet the goals of the project and works with them on all planned project activities.

The Project Coordinator attends monthly meetings with the project management team to coordinate project activities with timelines and budgets, to integrate project activities into existing activities, and to review and report progress toward project objectives.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to
:

Manages the daily operation of the grant program including but not limited to working with the Principal Investigator, Co-Project Directors, and WP units on implementation and execution of the project activities to meet the goals of the project.
Supervises and evaluates the work of the Student Success Coaches and Transfer Success Coordinator to ensure that new and transfer students in the grant program develop skills, behaviors, and habits that contribute to their success as STEM majors at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***..
Collaborates with WP Director of Transfer Programs and Special Sessions and STEM Transfer Success Coordinator to provide transfer students access to academic and non-academic supports.
Works with Student Success Coaches and appropriate WP units assisting STEM students in the program with academic and career goal setting, learning strategies, time management, organization, and self-motivation skills.
Assists Co-Project Director responsible for providing Supplemental Instruction (SI) and Student Success Coaches with the placement of STEM students in appropriate SI sessions and maintains records of supplemental instruction attendance for the students in the program.
Participates in concert with WP Admissions Office in the selection of students to participate in the grants STEM Summer Bridge Program from among newly admitted students.
Works with Co-Project Director responsible for STEM academic programs, WP Student Success staff, and other WP units specified in the ASPIRE project on scheduling and conducting the activities of the Summer Bridge Program.
Manages all academic mentoring and support activities and provides guidance to transfer students participating in Summer Research Bridge activities with WP STEM faculty.
Collaborates with WP Career Development Center to provide internship and experiential learning opportunities for the students participating in the program.
Manages the ASPIRE grant budget in concert with the Office of Sponsored Program and Business Services. Ensures that all expenses attributable to ASPIRE are appropriately accounted for and maintains documentation for audits and reporting.
Maintains essential records and files for the ASPIRE project and prepares appropriate correspondences and communications.
Prepares cogent reports and disseminates in printed and/or electronic format reports, newsletters and other documents on the activities and assessments of the ASPIRE project in accordance with grant reporting guidelines.
Participates in monthly meetings to coordinate project activities in line with timelines and budgets, to integrate project activities into existing initiatives, and review progress toward project objectives.
Performs other duties as assigned by the ASPIRE Project Principal Investigator that are appropriate for the position.
Qualifications:
Required qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Three (3) or more years of progressive experience working in grant supported project management at an institution of higher education.
Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to analyze and interpret institutional policies and procedures, federal and state grants management rules, and regulations relating to grant implementation and compliance.
Demonstrated success in leading a team toward meeting project goals.
Experience presenting information to diverse internal and external audiences.
Proficiency using online technologies and ability to learn and adapt to new tools.
Additional, preferred qualifications:
Masters degree.
Supervisory experience.
Personal attributes and traits:
Ability to prioritize work, set reasonable timelines and attain agreed-upon goals.
Able to dissect a problem into its parts and, using critical thinking and analytical and problem solving skills propose results driven solutions.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in written and oral format.
Capable of working collaboratively in a complex organization with stakeholders who may have competing needs and wants.
