Part-Time Job Description:
New Hope’s High School Director Will:
Assist high school students in developing & building stronger relationships with Jesus.
Provide stability and growth for the high school ministry of New Hope
Be able to teach a theological view that is consistent with New Hope’s biblical beliefs and values.
Plan High school outings, retreats, and a summer or mission trips.
Show an ability to communicate well with parents through and involve them in the work of the ministry on a weekly basis.
Distribute teaching responsibilities amongst capable adult leaders in the group.
Candidate should already be living in the Greater Nashville, TN area.
Candidate should be in alignment with New Hope’s Beliefs, Vision, Values, Constitution & Bylaws.
Reports to the senior pastor.
Church Website: ****Duties:
Plan and organize the teaching of biblically accurate and culturally relevant lessons for Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings.
Create and manage a high school student ministry calendar that will drive all the activities and teaching of the ministry.
Work with New Hope’s worship director on the development of the student praise band on Wednesday evenings.
Direct the recruitment, training, and development of volunteers as needed to staff weekly programs and special events.
Work alongside parents and volunteers to develop student leaders.
Design, plan, and conduct periodic parent meetings in order to meet the needs and expectations of families attending the church.
Work with the church staff and leadership on the creative use and proactive upkeep of the Student Ministry facility.
Work alongside the Middle School Director to plan Wednesday evening gatherings and possible events.
Develop an annual budget for the high school ministry.
Reach out to unchurched youth in the community, engage them with the gospel, and involve them in the work of the church.
Recruit, develop, and deploy new volunteers for the church’s youth ministry.
Skills and Training Desired:
Background in Biblical Training and Teaching
Strong communication skills as evidenced in teaching samples
Completed College Education in a related field preferred
High emotional intelligence and relational skills
Background working in student ministries preferred
Position is part-time, 20-25 hours/week
