This position is for qualified candidates who are board certified in neurology and vascular neurologywho also have expertise in endovascular interventional neurology (aka neuroendovascular; interventional neuroradiology; or endovascular surgical neuroradiology) to become a faculty member of Emory University School of Medicines department of neurology in the division of vascular neurology. Clinical duties are to provide comprehensive care for patients with cerebrovascular disease. Clinical services focus on providing interventional and vascular neurology care for patients at Grady Hospital, including night and weekend coverage. Candidates must be able to work effectively in a team care environment providing the best possible experience for patients and their families. Qualified candidates must have the appropriate training and expertise to perform the full spectrum of procedures and patient care in interventional neurology as follows:
Diagnose and treat with diseases of the central nervous system and head and neck by use of percutaneous puncture and catheter technology (diagnostic and interventional angiography), radiologic imaging, and clinical expertise. Areas of expertise include but are not limited to: performing clinical pre-procedure evaluations of patients; interpreting relevant diagnostic imaging studies; integrating neuroendovascular surgical therapy into the clinical management of patients with diseases of the central nervous system; head or neck when performing diagnostic and therapeutic neuroendovascular procedures; providing short-term and long-term post procedure follow-up care including inpatient and outpatient care, endovascular or percutaneous interventions of head, neck (including inomminate, carotid, vertebral, and subclavian territories), brain, and spinal vascular diseases (including but not limited to aneurysms and vascular malformations), and mechanical thrombectomy.
Successful completion of an ACGME or CAST accredited postgraduate training program in endovascular surgical neuroradiology, or demonstration of equivalent training
