We are recognised as a leading centre of expertise in Social Policy, ranking in the top 50 in the QS World University rankings and 8th in the UK’s Complete University Guide.
The Department of Social Policy, Sociology & Criminology (SPSC) is seeking to appoint an
Associate Professor of Criminology to join our growing team. We will consider excellent applications for either a research and education OR education focused career pathway. In either case, you will have the capacity to develop and teach across our undergraduate criminology programmes and develop our postgraduate offer. In particular, we are seeking teaching expertise in policing and/or race and ethnicity in crime and/or criminal justice. If applying on a research and education pathway, you will additionally be able to demonstrate an established, internationally recognised research programme in criminology/criminal justice, evidenced in high quality outputs, research grant capture and impact and engagement activities.
The role requires normally, a higher degree relevant to the research/teaching area (usually PhD) close to completion or equivalent qualifications.
