Job Description:
Job Summary:
The Learning & Curriculum Systems Administrator supports the Dean of Academic Affairs in leading the administration and maintenance of the university's learning management, curriculum, and related systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the administration and maintenance of learning management, curriculum, and related academic technology systems and integrations.
Develop processes and standards as well as lead high-quality customer service and technical support for faculty on the use of learning management, curriculum, AskCCI, and related systems.
Manage projects and activities, set individual and team priorities, meet critical deadlines, and provide follow-up on assignments with minimal direction.
Identify and develop solutions to automate and increase the efficiency of routine processes in collaboration with team members and the IT department.
Interact and establish regular communication with internal and external stakeholders and vendors. Escalate issues with vendors as appropriate.
Oversee the development and delivery of documentation, training, and multimedia support resources for stakeholders on the effective use of the learning management and curriculum systems.
Oversee the creation, storage, and integration of online synchronous and asynchronous multimedia content, including video streaming, recording, and editing to enhance the teaching and learning experience.
Collaborate with the IT department to provide stakeholders with access to system data.
Proactively seek to understand how new updates can impact current processes and/or benefit future development. Identify, test, seek feedback on, and implement new functions and features.
Maintain knowledge of the policies, issues, and laws affecting online learning.
Maintain knowledge of current trends and developments in academic technology.
Promote the adoption of Universal Design principles, ADA and copyright compliance in the use of departmental systems.
Participate in professional development and continuing education activities to support personal and departmental growth.
Provide culturally competent leadership, training, and mentoring to stakeholders and department staff.
Participate in academic committees and task forces.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervise the Systems & Media Specialist.
Interview, hire, and train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems.
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with CityU policies and applicable laws.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in educational technology or related fields, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in learning management system administration with proven technical troubleshooting skills.
Knowledge of current and innovative trends in academic technology and instructional design principles in face-to-face, online, and mixed-mode environments.
Experience in researching, learning, and documenting new systems or tools to create online instructional materials for departmental and external stakeholders.
Experience working with website design, web conferencing, multimedia, and video, e.g. A/V hardware, video editing and streaming services.
Strong data analysis skills to identify, gather and analyze results in support of department initiatives and process improvements.
Excellent organizational, planning, interpersonal, customer service, presentation and communication skills that enable effective communication with and support of a diverse staff, faculty, and students.
Proven time and project management skills, ability to adjust to changing workloads and priorities, and ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross departmental groups.
Ability to strategically guide and promote the effective use of systems and academic technology to support teaching and learning.
Exceptional technology skills including proficiency with Learning Management Systems, LTI's, Academic Technologies, and MS Office products.
Experience with Brightspace, Watermark and LTI integrations desired.

Salary information:
$65,000 -- $75,000/year DOE
