Introduction to Communication Disorders
Phonetics
American Sign Language (ASL) I and II
Alternative and Augmentative Communication (graduate)
Communication Disorders in the Schools (graduate)
Department Overview:
The Department of Communication Disorders and Sciences offers both bachelors and master's degrees in Speech-Language Pathology. The undergraduate program is committed to providing students with the fundamental knowledge of typical and atypical communication processes sufficient for entry into graduate programs.
The graduate program, which is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), prepares students for careers in speech-language pathology so that they can provide competent and evidence-based service to individuals with communication disorders across the lifespan.
The department also fosters intellectual curiosity, creative problem-solving, and clinical reasoning. For more information about the department, please visit ****Duties:
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Using the course outline as a guide, develop relevant syllabi in order to deploy course content, objectives, and methods of student assessment for up to six (6) credits per semester in an undergraduate course (see course listing above)
Contribute to student success by providing consistent and effective support and guidance through role modeling and mentoring
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
Earned Masters degree* in Communication Disorders and Sciences/Speech-Language Pathology
* The ASL courses do not require an earned Masters degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
One or more years teaching in higher education
Certification by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)

Ability to interact with others in a positive manner
